A small walk across the road from the Green Welly brings you to the Clifton Cottage Bed and Breakfast (not a hotel) where you will find a warm welcome from Carmen and Tam . After walking for most of the day from Kingshouse on the west highland way . Clifton was a welcome sight indeed. An opportunity to get rest in a comfortable bed and finally get my clothes washed at the midway point . As Carmen said “Dont suffer in silence ,just ask if you need anything “ The washing is what I needed and within a matter of hours I had all my dirt clothes cleaned and dried ready for the big miles day to Kingshouse . Nothing was a hassle and the welcome I revealed was very nice from both Carmen and Tam. Make sure to read the black book in the room for some great history and advise on what is available locally and information on munros,Scot’s History and of course the West Highland Way . The room has all the tea an coffee facilities you need a few sweet treats a small fridge full of water and juices and fresh milk none of that UHT nonsense extra pillows smart tv decent shower and extra pillows . Breakfast was fantastic as they both knew I had a big walk ahead of me a very large bowl of porridge, coffee ,fruit juices and a fry sent me on my way. Oh and the hosting was great too all good craic with both Carmen and Tam . Remember this is a bed and breakfast not a hotel there is a difference for me the service was the difference a far more pleasant and personal experience a d a good night’s sleep.

Without any doubt, this is the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at. The welcome was so warm, the facilities perfect, and nothing was too much trouble for my hosts. The breakfast was spectacular. You can also choose a time for breakfast, which is a big plus. The location is the best possible for walkers, because not only is there beautiful scenery and fine hills around Tyndrum, but the location allows you to easily get north, south, east or west - by car, train or bus. Nowhere else puts so much fine walking within easy reach. Ideal too for anyone walking the West Highland Way. I have stayed at very many good B&Bs and guest houses throughout the Scottish Highlands - but this was perfect in every way.

First of all Tom and Carmen were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, after arriving soaking wet they had all our clothing and equipment dried and hung up after a few hours. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable, a lovely selection of tea, coffee, soft drinks from the fridge and snacks to feast on were very much appreciated, we had a lovely cooked breakfast, there was also a big choice of cereal, toast etc. A really warm and welcoming couple, thank you.

Brian

We were earlier as expected at the B&B but that was no problem. Room was absolute clean, cozy and functional. We were received by Carmen and Tam and we concluded that they were our bests hosts during our WestHighwayWalk. Our stay was absolutely great and we love to come back. We enjoyed the early breakfast at 06.00 as a good start of the day.

Peter

Really warm welcome from Carmen. She put our hiking boots on a dryer, and lent us an umbrella when we went out. The location is right next to the centre and WHW route. The room is comfortable and has everything you need. Breakfast was great and they were happy to make it early for us. Porridge, cooked breakfast, coffee, juice, fruit ..
